The Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act requires Principal Employers to obtain a registration certificate if they employ 20+ contract workers. Contractors must obtain a license for 20+ workers. Both must maintain registers, pay minimum wages, and provide welfare facilities.

What is the Payment of Bonus Act?

Establishments with 20+ employees must pay annual bonus to employees earning up to ₹21,000/month. Minimum bonus is 8.33% of wages (₹100 minimum) and maximum is 20%. It must be paid within 8 months of close of the financial year.
