What this scheme actually is

IN-SPACe was created to open the Indian space sector to private players, and its Seed Fund is the entry-level instrument for that ecosystem. It is a pure grant, released against milestones, and comes with mentoring, training and networking through IN-SPACe. The eligibility ceiling is notably generous: you can have taken up to ₹50 lakh of other government support and still qualify.

Implementing agency: IN-SPACe

What the scheme sets out to do

Promote, enable, authorise and supervise non-government entities undertaking space activities
Fund early-stage startups using space technology to address challenges in the space sector
Build a private Indian space industry across the value chain

Who can apply

DPIIT-recognised early-stage startups with innovative ideas and projects that use space technology
Startups must not have received more than ₹50 lakh of monetary support under any Central or State government scheme

What you get

Grant of ₹1 crore provided to selected startups on a milestone basis
Funding, mentorship, training and networking opportunities through IN-SPACe
Pathway to the Antariksh Venture Capital Fund and the Technology Adoption Fund as the company matures

How to apply, step by step

  1. 1

    Watch the Announcements of Opportunity

IN-SPACe publishes announcements from time to time rather than running a permanent window. Track the AO page — the windows are short.

  2. 2

Check the ₹50 lakh prior-support ceiling

Higher than most schemes, but still a hard cap. Add up every central and state grant you have taken before applying.

  3. 3

Build the technical and milestone plan

Space applications are judged on technical merit and feasibility. Define milestones tightly — the grant releases against them, not against elapsed time.

  4. 4

    Apply through the IN-SPACe portal

Submission is against the specific announcement, in the format published with it.

  5. 5

Deliver milestones and plan the next raise

A completed IN-SPACe Seed Fund project is a strong entry point to the Antariksh VCF and the Technology Adoption Fund.

How Company Avenue Advisory helps

What we actually do on a scheme mandate

DPIIT recognition and a prior-funding audit against the ₹50 lakh ceiling before you apply
Technical-milestone budgeting the grant can actually be released against
Grant accounting, utilisation certificates and audit readiness
Mapping the space funding ladder — Seed Fund, then TAF, then Antariksh VCF — so each round sets up the next

No consultant can guarantee a sanction — that decision sits with the evaluating committee, bank or incubator. We commit to an honest eligibility view, an application built to the evaluator’s format, filing inside the window and a documented follow-up cadence. That is stated in every engagement letter we sign.
