What this scheme actually is
GREAT sits under the National Technical Textiles Mission and is one of the least-crowded grant windows in the country, simply because few founders know technical textiles is a funded category. It covers agro-textiles, geo-textiles, medical textiles, protective textiles, smart textiles, high-performance fibres, sustainable textiles, composites and indigenous machinery — and critically, the intellectual property generated stays with the innovator.

What the scheme sets out to do
Who can apply
What you get
How to apply, step by step
- 1
Confirm your product is a technical textile
The definition is broader than founders assume — medical devices with textile substrates, protective equipment, filtration media and composites all qualify. Map your product to a listed segment explicitly.
- 2
Get incubated with an eligible incubator
Incubation with an approved incubator is a condition for both individual innovators and startups.
- 3
Check the entity conditions
Under 5 years old, turnover below ₹100 crore, at least 51% Indian resident ownership and control.
- 4
Apply through the NTTM GREAT portal
Registration and submission happen at nttm.texmin.gov.in when applications are invited.
- 5
Deliver against the 40:40:20 milestones
Structure the project so 40% of the work is genuinely complete at each of the first two gates — otherwise the instalments stall.
What we actually do on a GREAT mandate
Services this usually needs
No consultant can guarantee a sanction — that decision sits with the evaluating committee, bank or incubator. We commit to an honest eligibility view, an application built to the evaluator’s format, filing inside the window and a documented follow-up cadence. That is stated in every engagement letter we sign.
