What this scheme actually is
LEAP picks up exactly where the BIRAC SEED Fund stops. It is for biotech startups that have a product and now need capital to pilot it, commercialise it and raise venture capital on the back of that traction. BioNEST bio-incubators act as LEAP fund partners, each holding up to ₹5 crore to invest against equity and equity-linked instruments.

What the scheme sets out to do
Who can apply
What you get
How to apply, step by step
- 1
Confirm you are past the SEED threshold
If your requirement is ₹30 lakh or less it will be considered under SEED, not LEAP. Size the ask against the milestone plan honestly.
- 2
Identify a LEAP fund partner incubator
BIRAC lists the BioNEST bio-incubators operating as LEAP fund partners. Match on sub-sector and facilities.
- 3
Build the commercialisation case
Manufacturing or scale-up plan, regulatory clearances obtained or pending, pilot customers, unit economics at scale and the funding milestones.
- 4
Negotiate the instrument and close
Equity or equity-linked. Model the dilution and the interaction with any prior SEED instrument before you sign.
What we actually do on a LEAP mandate
Services this usually needs
No consultant can guarantee a sanction — that decision sits with the evaluating committee, bank or incubator. We commit to an honest eligibility view, an application built to the evaluator’s format, filing inside the window and a documented follow-up cadence. That is stated in every engagement letter we sign.
