What this scheme actually is
DAE has technology it cannot commercialise itself, and startups have the commercial capability it lacks. These centres bridge that — offering prototyping facilities, test beds, pilot implementation and scientist mentoring, plus licensing of DAE spin-off technologies. For a hard-tech startup, access to national-lab instrumentation is worth more than a modest grant.

Identify the nearest DAE incubation centre
Centres operate at DAE units such as IGCAR. Each publishes its own calls for proposals and benefits.

Submit a proposal with an expression of interest
At IGCAR, for instance, applicants submit their proposal and EoI for incubation of the technology to the Head of the Incubation Centre.

Negotiate the technology transfer terms
Where you are licensing a DAE technology, the licence terms and royalty structure are the commercial core of the deal.
